Full ownership of your domain name
At Gandi, the Customer is the owner of the domain name, declared as such during the registration of the domain name, and visible in the Whois directory following the creation of the domain. Gandi is only a simple technical intermediary, acting on behalf of the Customer. The Customer can delegate the administrative, technical, payment and billing aspects of the domain to third parties. Consequently, if the owner and the payer are different people, the contract holder remains the owner of the domain name (Section 1 of Gandi’s contract)Full DNS management
Gandi makes its DNS available to you and allows you to manage your DNS zones via our administration interface. You may enter up to 10 DNS for your domain, and if you have your own server, you may use Gandi’s DNS as primary or secondary servers. Gandi also gives you the opportunity of registering your servers with the registry.Web/e-mail forwarding management
Gandi offers you full and direct management of your direct forwarding (either 301 or 302) or masked forwarding (using frames) for hosts who do not provide DNS hosting (Tripod...). You may also point each of your subdomains to an address of your choice.GandiBlog - 1 free Blog
Gandi offers you a free blog (creation tool and blog hosting) that lets you easily and efficiently express yourself over the internet. GandiBlog is based on the excellent Dotclear 2 open-source program, which we actively support. With each domain registered, you get 1GB of storage space and 10GB per month of traffic. With each domain name purchased, Gandi offers 5 free e-mail accounts with 1GB of storage and an unlimited number of e-mail aliases. You can use POP and IMAP protocols for accessing your personal e-mail account. If you want to use one of the best user environments, without worrying about technical details, our Webmail interface is right for you. Additionally, for 1 euro excl. VAT per month, you may subscribe to our Mail Pack in order to have even more e-mail mailboxes that use your domain.Forwarding for up to 1,000 e-mail addresses
Gandi also lets you forward up to a thousand e-mail addresses, allowing you to optimize your presence on the internet.Transferring your domain
If your domain is in the “Status: active” state, you are at all times free to transfer your domain from Gandi to another registrar, without any blocking or additional cost from us. To prevent unauthorized transfers regarding your domain name, you can choose to block transfers of your domain name via your account’s administration interface (not available for .FR, .BE, or .EU).Protection of your e-mail address in the Whois
In order to protect your e-mail from spam, Gandi lets you hide your real e-mail address in the Whois database by replacing it with one that Gandi has encrypted.
