Terms and Conditions

Assigning: .RU is restricted to non-Russian organizations and individuals
Syntax: from 3 to 63 alphanumeric characters or a hyphen (other than in first or last position)

Registration period: 1 year
Subdomains available: yes (.net.ru, .org.ru, .pp.ru)

Procedures


Registration: you must send proof of identity to RU-Center (for legal entities, a copy of the certificate about state registration of a legal entity issued by the state authorities; for natural persons, a passport copy). If RU-Center requests an identity verification, you must send the documents within 3 days, otherwise RU-Center can delete your domain
Renewal: no later than 2 before its expiration date
Disputes: no alternative process, see the explanations of the Registry
Change of owner: you must follow the procedures set forth by the RU-Center. This process is manual, and subject to fees
Transfer (change of Registrar): it is NOT possible to transfer a .RU domain name to Gandi
Deletion process: quarantine of 30 days, see this table
