Answers to Your Questions
Your e-mail 'doesn't work'
If your e-mail is not longer working, there may be several causes, each with its own solution.
Generally speaking, as Gandi is not a host, unless the problem is administrative (expired domain, registration problem, etc.) you will need to contact your web host. The exception to this is if you are using our custom DNS, in which case you should verify that you have correctly configured your zone file.
Below are the most common reasons for e-mail not working, and where to find the solution:
| Possible Reason | Solution |
| Expired domain | Renew your domain with Gandi |
| Problem with your web host | Contact your web host |
| My website is working well, but I cannot send or receive e-mail. | Contact your web host, because they manage your e-mail service. |
| DNS zone file invalid | Contact your web host.
If you are using Gandi's custom DNS, verify that you have entered the correct information in your zone, as provided to you by your web host. |
| DNS invalid or down | Contact your web host |
| The e-mail address your are forwarding your mails to is unavailable | Contact the host of the e-mail address you are forwarding your mails to (if you are using our e-mail forwarding service) |
| Your domain has not had time for the DNS to be updated | Please wait up to 6 hours after changing your DNS or creating a domain |
| Your domain has been suspended due to invalid registration information | Correct the registration data as required by updating your owner handle information via Gandi's website. |
| Your domain has been suspended due to invalid technical settings (DNS, in the case of .fr domains) | Verify your technical configuration by contacting your web host and referring to any error messages you may see in your domain's control panel. |
