Network Solutions Incorporated, www.nsi.com.

NSI is the company that was initially granted the management of .com, .net, .org, and .edu domain names. Once the monopoly ended, the company maintained the registry of those TLDs, while still being one of the registrars for them.

Since then, the registry division has been sold to Verisign, and the .org TLD was transferred to the PIR registry.
