Answers to Your Questions
How can I confront spam?
Unfortunately, one cannot really do anything to stop spam. Here is some of the only advice we can give you:
- Send a complaint to the spammer's service provider
- Send a complaint to the web host of the spammer (do not confuse web host with registrar)
- Send a complaint to the legal authorities
- Install an anti-virus program, a firewall, an anti-spam filter.
If your email address was obtained by the spammer from the Whois database, and your domain is registered with Gandi, you can use Gandi's anti-spam system for your Gandi handle. To do this, simply go to the Account section. In this area, all you have to do is click on "anti-spam system".
You will then receive the spam, but it will be clearly identified as such. If you are confident enough in our anti-spam filters, you will then be able to automatically delete these e-mails.
Additionally, this service will not display your real e-mail address in the Whois directory (for more information, please refer to our Gandi Whois FAQ.
