Pre-transfer Checklist for domains other than .fr or .be
Transferring a domain name is never instant, though you can take a few steps to speed up the process:
- Unlock your domain at your current registrar so that it may be transferred,
- The domain is more than 60 days old
- Ensure that the domain's registrant (owner) information is correct and clearly visible in the Whois,
- Ensure that the owner's e-mail address is valid and is one that you have access to,
- Ensure that the domain has not already been deleted at your current registrar,
- For .com, .net, .org, and .info domains, you must ask your current registrar for the transfer authorization code (some .com and .net domains need this code, but it is necessary for all .org and .info transfers).
