Answers to Your Questions

How can I change the owner of a domain?

Ownership changes for .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .eu and .name domain names are done online, directly on Gandi's website.

The current owner of a domain can request an owner change either by :

  • Logging in with the current owner's handle here, and then going to the domain's control panel (Link : "Change owner"), or by
  • Logging in with the current owner's handle here, checking several domains in your list of domains, and then select "Ownership Change" in the "Select an action" menu at the bottom of the page.

Ownership changes will be free for .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, and .name domains in the following cases :
  • For .org, .biz, .info, and .name, during the promotional period for these TLDs which lasts until October 30th, 2006
  • For the combining of handles that were created during the changeover to Gandi's new website
  • For the correction of owner handles that were created for domains when they were transferred to gandi between June and August 2006.

Free ownership changes do not extent to .be, .eu, and .fr domains because the process of changing the owner for these TLDs includes a renewal : the new expiration date of a domain becomes the ownership change date plus one year.
