Three new gTLDs, .car, .cars, .auto, roll into Sunrise

The next installment of a certain epic space opera is due in a matter of mere days and while we’d like to be celebrating return of the scruffy-looking nerfherder himself to the franchise, the domains entering this Sunrise phase, though, have us thinking more of an earlier movie by the same filmmaker, with an actor in a not-so-different role.

Of course, we’re talking about American Graffiti, the 1973 classic celebration of the cars, rock-and-roll and teenagers with disposible income culture in Southern California during the 50s, because this Wednesday December 9, 2015, .car .cars, and .auto are entering the Sunrise phase and have our motor started.

These days, of course, kids cruise in electric hybrids and self-driving cars, and American Graffiti stands as an eternal and perhaps puzzling document of their grandparents’ decadence.

Remember, the Sunrise phase is for TMCH-registered trademark holders. Contact our corporate support team if you have a TMCH-registered trademark (or would like help registering your existing trademark at TMCH) in order to register one of these new gTLDs during Sunrise.

During this phase, domains in these extensions will be available for $3294.19 per year at A rates.
