Tuesday April 28 marks the beginning of the Sunrise phase for .amsterdam, the latest geographic TLD.
Amsterdam, of course, is home to the Nemo museum, the Van Gogh museum, the Rembrandt and Anne Frank Houses, beautiful canals, famous bridges, open-air markets, and surely more, but nothing else Amsterdam is known for really comes to mind … hmm ...
The Sunrise phase for .amsterdam will be FCFS—first-come-first-served—meaning that if two people registering a domain, only the first to do so will get it. The price of a one-year .amsterdam registration during the Sunrise phase will be $654.19 at A-rates.
There will then be a quick priority registration for Amsterdam-based entities between May 29 and May 31 and then Landrush will go from June 1 to August 14. The .amsterdam extension then enters GoLive on September 1.
Maybe it has an appeal for old-timey prospectors or for jewelers or even olympic medalists but something about .gold entering the Sunrise phase on Tuesday April 28 makes us immediately think of the 1970s. We feel the 70s were a great time for gold. We're thinking gold-veined black faux-marble tile lining a hot tub—with gold-trimmed wood paneling and low gold-fabric couches in the next room over—big gold plastic sunglasses, and some kind of shimmery gold disco dance outfit. With a gold tinsel wig.
Related to .gold, if only by proximate spelling, .golf is also entering Sunrise. Plus, more than just an after-thought, .plus is entering Sunrise too.
Finally, we are happy to see .tours enter Sunrise as well. If you have a travel agency specifically focused on the city of Tours in France, now's the time to act quickly to snag tours.tours. Otherwise, .tours is also great for ghost tours, three-hour tours, sightseeing tours and anything else you can think of.
For these TLDs, Sunrise will last until June 27. Then, a three-day landrush period will go from July 5 to July 8 and finally will enter GoLiveJuly 8.

If you're a gambler, you've probably been betting on your .poker domain still being available by the time it enters GoLive but now it's time to ante up, or however that betting metaphor works here;GoLive prices of a one-year registration, at A rates $57.22.
Not only is Spring a great time .flowers, and .wedding, but also, why not update your virtual wardrobe with .fashion or plant the seeds for a bright, new future online with .garden? These last two are enter the GoLive phase on April 15, when either will be available for a one-year registration at A rates for $38.33.

.TIROL, the geographic TLD for the Austrian region of Tyrol (the spelling of which is Tirol in German), famous of course for its ski resorts, among other things, is now entering the Landrush phase as of Monday, April 13th. But it's not just for skiing. If your company, organization or association has ties to Tyrol, what better way to strengthen your identity than to purchase a .TIROL domain?
During this phase, .TIROL domains will be available for $255.78.
Or maybe you want to take the bunny hill and register when it enters the GoLive phase on June 1, when it will be available for $41.38.
Officially, the new .TOPgTLD is about "breakthrough," since the Chinese word for "breakthrough" is similar in pronounciation to "top" but we foresee a lot of other options for .TOP domains. You could go the spinning children's toy route or you could go with world domination in a particular area. Maybe you like shirts and blouses and things. Or, consider that TLD itself stands for top-level domain. In any case, .TOP has been in Golive since November 17 and now it's finally available from Gandi, for a one-year registration at A rates for $27.37.

.ALSACE domains, the extension for all who love Alsace, will enter the GoLive phase on Tuesday April 7 at 6 a.m. PDT (3 p.m. in Strasbourg).
