Traditionally, the grand opening of a new shop involves a big red banner, one of those flailing-arm tube guys, and a good old-fashioned opening day sale.
Well, one unfortunate casualty of online commerce is the ribbon and the flailing arm guy just don't have the same impact. But you don't need a brick-and-mortar to do an opening day sale. So when .shop enters the GoLive phase on September 26, 2016 at 8:00 AM PDT, you can get a domain in this extension for just $25.00* for the first year at A rates. Normally, .shop domains will go for $45.95* in A rates, so that's more than 45% off.
Even though .shop is currently in the Sunrise phase (.shop domains go for $1050.74*per year apiece in Sunrise), you can still submit your registration for a .shop domain in the GoLive phase now and once the GoLive phase begins, we'll send the order to the registry. That's the upside of not having a physical shop where you can buy your .shop: getting in line early doesn't mean camping out overnight on the sidewalk.
This promotion is good for any .shop registrations submitted for GoLive from now until December 31, 2016 at 4:00 PM PST (or midnight UTC). So come on down to Gandi for the .shop opening day sale.
Otherwise, for our purposes now, suffice it to say that registries set premium prices for particular high-demand domain names and starting September 1, 2016 until March 31, 2017 at 5:00 PM PDT, Radix is offering a special deal on a few Premium domains in their popular TLDs .online, .press, .store, .tech and .website.
We've selected just a sampling* of the kind of deals you can find during this special promotional period:
special.website, for that special site in your life: $123.75 instead of $250.00**
concerts.online (why watch live when you can watch online?) for $238.43 instead of $500.00**
adsl.online, because ADSL is *always* online, for $447.29 instead of $1000.00**
film.store, to sell physical film stock in a brick-and-mortar for $1015.45 instead of $2500.00**
people.tech, tech with that people touch for $3894.00 instead of $10,000.00**
Whether where you live it's a buck, a euro or a quid*, this September you can keep another one in your pocket when buying a .uk domain, including any of the second-level .uk domains like .co.uk, .me.uk, or .org.uk.
From 1 September until midnight 30 September 2016 UTC register a new .uk domain for longer than one year, get a dollar, a euro or a pound* per year off the top (in A rates). Same thing goes for renewals: keep a dollar, a euro or a pound more than A rates for each year you renew.

September is a big month for the Catalonian capital Barcelona. First, on September 11, Barcelona commemorates the fall of Barcelona and defeat of Catalunya to Felipe V in the War of Spanish Succession with La Diada. It's not necessarily a festive celebration, but it's considered Catalunya's national day.
Later in the month, though, Barcelona celebrates its patron saint, La Mare de Déu de la Mercè, for a whole week with the la Mercè. Each day, there's a parade, including giant papier mâché figures. Another tradition, declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, is the castells. Basically, competitive human tower-building.
Whether you want to commemorate La Diada or celebrate la Mercè or build a castell out of domain names even (not sure how that would work, though), we're showing love for Barcelona this fall by putting .barcelona domains on sale for $25.00 per year (normally $85.46 at A rates)*starting September 1 until October 31, 2016 at 5:00 PM PST.
While on May 5, Anglo-Americans put on cheap straw sombreros, go out for Tex-Mex and blender-mixed margaritas, thinking el Sink-o de May-yo is the most Mexican day of the year, the real Mexican national holiday is September 15-16. And while the US has the Declaration of Independence, Mexico has the Grito de Dolores.
On September 15 every year at exactly 11:00 PM, in commemoration of the original event, the heads of the executive branches of each level of government, waving a Mexican flag, exhort the public with a round of pronouncements culminating in three shouts of ¡Viva México! Rousing stuff.
So to commemorate in our own way the three Viva Méxicos, this September, starting September 1 through September 30, .mx domains, the ccTLD for Mexico, will be three for the price of one, or just one .mx domain for $16.00 per year instead of the normal $48.00*.
¡Viva México! y ¡Viva .mx!

If emblematic form of lethargy of the cable TV era was channel surfing, the equivalent for the Internet age is the link hole.
If you've ever started by looking up something totally normal, like the caffeine molecule (because you're tired and you want coffee), and eventually you end up reading about the original formula for Tang, then you know how it is.
The internet works in mysterious ways.
And now, from September 1 until November 30, 2016 (at 4:00 PM PST), you can celebrate these mysterious ways with a .link domain at just $4.50* for the first year.

There's a big difference between a picture and a photo. Any teenager with a smartphone can take a picture but a photo is a work of art. In other words, you at least have to have an Instagram account.
And if photography is your preferred medium (and you're ready to evolve beyond the aforementioned Instagram account), take all of those carefully-framed shots of sunsets, beaches, weddings and vacations from this summer and put them on a .photo domain for just $5.00* for the first year from September 1 until November 30, 2016 (at 4:00 PM PST).
