The .COM registry is having a great discount in preparation for the summer, which lets us offer you domain in this extension at a very low price of$5 / €5 / £3.50 excl. VAT for the first year (in all price rates).
This promo is good for all 1-year creations until June 30th, 2015 at midnight CEST (3:00pm PST) so don't wait!
Good news for infomaniacs! The .info extension is on sale!
Infomania is a compulsion to constantly verify and collect information often using the Internet. While sure, it must have existed in past centuries and millennia, infomania strikes us as a uniquely modern obsession to which we all sometimes succumb.
Quick: what's your best friend from elementary school's Facebook status? Who was Philip Barton Key? What's the phone number of the nearest Mexican restaurant? How long would it take to drive to Yosemite from your house? If you can't help but look these things up, then you too might have infomania.
For all things info, there's .info, available until the end of the year, December 31, 2015, for 40% off: that's $9.93 for a one-year registration instead of $16.55 at A rates.
This summer is all about you, Gandians: with .photo and .sexy on sale for 50% off it's time to get those domain names to celebrate your photogenic and sexy selves. Normally a .photo (which can be used for more than just selfies, by the way), is $32.49 for a one-year registration at A rates but this summer you can get one for just $16.25.
And .sexy, which normally runs $21.70 for a one-year registration at A rates is available for the sexy price of $10.85. The summer fun starts today, June 15 until September 15.
Originally delegated to the sunny Pacific island country of Palau, .pw, now one of a few go-to extensions for URL-shortener domains, also stands for Professional Web. We can think of a few more things: password for security enthusiasts, peewee for sports leagues, persistent world for game designers, pastry wizard for bakers, or even Prince William for fans of the royal family.
No matter how you want to interpret .pw, normally, a year's registration of one of these domains at A rates costs $15 but from June 10 to July 10, it's available for just $0.99 per year, so take advantage while you can.
A promotion on .cat domains, the TLD for Catalonia*, also has us excited for other reasons too.
When studies revealed that rodents infected with Toxoplasmosis gondii (n.b. that's gondii not Gandi), a parasite which may be spread by cats, may be attracted to cat odors rather than repelled as was the case with uninfected control subjects, the media was quick to suppose the parasite could have the same effect in humans and invented "Crazy cat lady syndrome," to explain why some of us just can't help but love cats.
Of course, there's no such syndrome. It turns out that cats infect us with love without resorting to parasitical proxies. And you don't need to look far on the Internet to see why. Normally expressing your cat love with a .cat domain for one year is $13.00 at A rates but from June 8 until August 17, you can get one for half-price: $6.50.
Your mother always told you that you'd never make a living on the stage and your father told you it wasn't "real" work (whatever that's supposed to mean) and maybe when you're agonizing in a roach-filled studio in Manhattan it sure doesn't feel like you'll ever really make it, not like you wanted, but when you feel the heat of that spotlight and the pattering of the applause, not matter how paltry and lackluster, you know that no matter what, you were always meant to be up there on those boards.
If you're one of those who know your place is on that stage, no matter how bad the tips or crummy the gig, we have good new for you: today, Friday May 15, we are promoting .actor,.band,.dance, and.rocks (normally $30.41, $28.84, $18.33 and $15.54, respectively).
Right now, you can register a new domain under one of these extensions for just $5.00!
Why not get your .webcam site online? Plan for summer events with your own .party domains?
Or show the world your new .science project? It's all possible now!
* It seems like a high ceiling, but these promotions are limited to 500,000 per extension total (whether through Gandi or not), so once that limit is reached, we won't be able to offer the promotion. In other words: While supplies last.
We're partnering with the .XYZ registry to benefit the excellent Read the Docs project. \o/
This month's featured project is ReadTheDocs, an open source project which hosts documentation (as well as allowing anyone to host their own), making it fully searchable and easy to find.
As in the past, the Registry is letting us have a great promo on all 1-year .XYZ domain creations, and we'll be joining forces with them to donate $1 for each new .XYZ registration to one of our favorite projects. Previous featured projects included Fight For the Future, FreeBSD, or Creative Commons, EFF and OpenHatch.
Until the end of May, new .XYZ domains can be registered at only $2.50 instead of the usual $13.63 excl. VAT.
(On a related note, Write the Docs North America happened on May 17-19, 2015 in Portland, Oregon, and was an amazing event. You can also donate to RTD directly at their website.)
This promo is extended! Now valid through June 30, 2015.
Do you want to register a .XYZ?
Edit: This promo ends May 31, not June 30 as previously indicated.
