Procedures

Registration:
1. Sunrise (1st of September - 1st of October)
During this period, only owners of trademarks registered with the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) can apply for a domain name provided their trademark fall within the ambit of one of the following criteria:
-trademark registered before the Benelux Office for Industrial Property (OBPI)
-community trademarks
2. Limited Period Registration for government institutions, companies and organizations established in Belgium (2nd of October - 3rd of November, 2014)
During this period only government institutions, companies and organizations established in Belgium may apply for a domain name that corresponds to a name to which they have a right (trademark, business name...)
3. Limited Registration Period for Belgian individuals (13th of November, 2014 - 15th of December, 2014):
During this period, only Belgians who own a Belgian electronic ID (eID) can register a domain name reproducing their name and family name or a combination.
N.B : You must validate your eID with the Registry on their website and forward the validation code to Gandi before a period of 7 days to perform your registration.
4. Landrush (16th of December, 2014 - 15th of January, 2015)
No eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by the applicant during this phase, anybody may apply. If multiple applications are made for the very same domain, auctions are held by a third party appointed by the Registry
5. General Availability (20th of January, 2015)
Anybody can apply for a domain name, no eligibility criteria must be met.
Renewal: no later than 45 days before the expiration date domains are deactivated upon expiration. It is possible to renew up to 45 days following the expiration date
Disputes: UDRP and URS
Transfer (change of Registrar): the process is started on the new registrar's interface with an auth code. Ensure that your domain does not have a TransferProhibited status, will not expire in less than 90 days, is older than 60 days and was not transferred the past 60 days. The successful transfer depends on your validation (by e-mail), and will renew the domain for 1 year.
Change of Ownership: available online via our website. The expiration date remains unchanged
