Accreditation: Gandi has been accredited for .CHANNEL domain names since January 2025.
Terms and Conditions
Assigning: .CHANNEL is exclusively for content creators and publishers to monetise their content. All .CHANNEL domains must present the user with a website where the creator can monetise their content or audience. No other use cases are allowed. By registering a .CHANNEL domain, you agree to follow the .CHANNEL Registration Policy. Please visit g.co/registry/channelRegistration for the full policy.
Domain names that do not comply with these requirements may be suspended or deleted for non-compliance.
The .CHANNEL extension is on Google's HSTS preload list, meaning that HTTPS is required for all .CHANNEL websites and pages.
To work properly in browsers, you will need to obtain a SSL certificate and configure the HTTPS serving.
Syntax: from 1 to 63 alphanumeric characters or a hyphen (excluding in the first and last place and third and fourth place).
IDN (accented domain names): Yes.
Registration period: 1 to 10 years during General Availability. 1 year in Early Access Period.
Second-level extensions: No.
Procedures
Renewal: Domains are deactivated upon expiration. It is possible to renew up to 45 days following the expiration date.
Transfer (change of Registrar): The process is started on the new registrar's interface with an auth code. Ensure that your domain does not have a TransferProhibited status, is older than 60 days and has not been transferred in the last 60 days. The effective transfer depends on your validation (by email) and renews the domain name for one year
Change of Ownership: Available on our interface, the current procedure consists in email confirmation by both former and new domain name owner. The expiration date is unchanged.
