Assigning: Anyone can register a .IN.Syntax: From 3 to 63 alphanumeric characters or a hyphen (other than in first or last position).

Procedures
Renewal: Renewal of a .IN extends the duration of a domain name by 1 to 5 years.Disputes: https://registry.in/Policies
Change of owner: The current procedure allows one to yield a domain name to a third party at Gandi or another Registrar.
Change of Registrar: You must begin the process at your new registrar. A confirmation e-mail will be sent (FOA) to the e-mail address of the current owner of the domain. On average the processing time for this procedure can take from 1 to 10 days.
